Brikkho Foundation

Meet Mr. Somnath Ghosh

Hi, let me introduce myself. I am Somnath, a dedicated nature-lover from Santiniketan. Brikkho
Foundation is my sole identity. Being a human being, I could even feel the pain of an uprooted
plant, I could sense the sound of a hungry dog, and I could hear how nature is seeking help from
the entire humankind.

It is our blessing to have an environment where we have everything for living. We need nature
for our survival, while nature does not need us for its existence. Then why are we damaging it so
badly that can even destroy our existence? This realization has changed the life-thought of a
person who belongs to a middle-class family. And that person is me. Saving nature has become
the only priority in my life.

I have dedicated my entire life to a single motto of saving nature till my last breath. This is what
I call "my madness" for nature. I love nature like my mother and am trying madly to heal it and
save it for our successors. My work is to make people understand the need for healing or saving
the environment. If a small group of people believes in and follows my mission, we can create a
better world together.

While saving nature is my primary focus, I have been trying to do something better for
underprivileged communities, poor children, and stray animals in association with other
volunteers. Don’t you feel how we need to hold hand-to-hand with an oath of saving nature?
Come and join us. Brikkho foundation welcomes you to do something better for your mother
earth.

Born & Education

I am from a middle-class family. Santiniketan is my birthplace. I started my education here and
after completing my 12th Board exam in 2016, I decided to move to Kolkata for further
education. Likewise, I moved to Kolkata and was admitted to Vidyasagar Evening College for
my degree course education. To chase my passion for film and animation, I joined HITECH
ANIMATION Lear Film Editing & Designing for the course of film editing and completed it
with a good mark.

Carrier & Mindset

After two years, I came back from Kolkata and started my own production house "Chayachobi
India" in Bolpur. I had a mindset to grow a complete hub for music videos, short films,
documentaries, and social media marketing. I was focused on making "Chayachobi India", a
reputed company to beat the big competitors of Bolpur.

Lockdown & COVID Period

Lockdown and COVID period add a twist to my carrier. Life has brought further opportunities to
think differently. I had less work pressure and more time to think about the well-being of
humankind. We were working together as “helping hands” to help underprivileged communities,
stray animals, and old people. COVID Period inspired my desire for social work and I dedicated
myself more in social activities than other preferences.

Rescue Animals & Feed Street Lives

During the COVID and lockdown period, I, in association with other organizations, rescued
animals like dogs, cats, cows, snakes, and birds and fed over 100 street dogs for 150 days. I had a
growing urge to involve myself more in social activities for the well-being of humankind.

Relief Work for "AMPHAN"

I worked actively in the AMPHAN period and helped 150 proletariat families in the village of
Sundarban. I heard the crying of distressed people and spread my hands for their help. From that
time, I kept myself involved more in helping poor and uneducated people and tribal
communities.

Establishment of Brikkho Foundation

I am a nature and animal lover by birth. While working with the forest department, I gathered
data on how aggressively our planet needs more plantations to produce more oxygen for living
creators. I hold the tune of involvement with nature strongly that I created during the COVID
period. I decided to close my production house “Chayachobi India", and dedicated myself to
healing and saving nature through tree adoption. I created Brikkho Foundation to encourage
people to tree adoption for a greener and healthier planet. Although my foundation is new, my
promise is larger and more diverse. We have a brilliant response from common people around
the world towards tree adoption and saving the planet.
